Security Bag Closure Guide: Zippers, Seals & Locks

Compare zipper, detachable-seal and lockable closure formats for controlled handling and repeatable handover.

Purpose of This Guide

The closure should match how often the bag is opened, who is permitted to open it and what evidence or access control the workflow requires.

The current range includes a heavy-duty zipper with a detachable security seal, a standard heavy-duty zipper, a lockable dual-zipper configuration and a secure side lock. Each format supports a different handling process.

Important: A seal or lock does not make a fabric bag tamper-proof or theft-proof. It must be used with the organisation’s access, inspection and handover procedure.

Compare Current Closure Formats

Choose the closure according to the control your workflow needs, then confirm the exact configuration during quotation.

Zipper & Detachable-Seal Formats

Security Zipper Bag with ID Window: a heavy-duty zipper works with a detachable security seal. A recorded seal identifier and a broken or missing seal can provide visible evidence that the closure has been opened.

Reinforced Security Carry Bag with ID Window: a heavy-duty zipper supports repeat opening and closing in handled transfer workflows. A seal or lock is not part of the standard description and must not be assumed.

Confirm: opening frequency, required seal procedure, bag dimensions and whether the closure must be checked at each handover.

Lockable Dual Zipper & Side Lock

Lockable Security Carry Bag with ID Window: two zipper pullers meet at a central lock housing. The exact lock arrangement and operating method are confirmed for the production order.

Fireproof & Waterproof Security Bag: the current format uses a secure side combination lock. The lock controls opening; certified protective performance is a separate specification that must be confirmed from the applicable documentation.

Confirm: authorised users, lock administration, access records, closure position and replacement procedure if hardware is damaged.

Use a documented handover process whenever seal status or lock control forms part of the operational record.

Frequently Asked Questions

Common questions when comparing zipper, detachable-seal and lockable security bag closures.

Which security bag closure should I choose?

Start with opening frequency, authorised users, intended contents and the record you need at handover. Choose a standard zipper for repeat access, a detachable seal for visible seal status, or a lockable format when controlled opening is required.

The seal identifier can be recorded before transfer. A broken, changed or missing seal can provide visible evidence that the closure has been opened, but the organisation must still record and inspect each handover.

No. A heavy-duty zipper is the primary closure. A lockable format adds a defined lock housing or side lock and requires an agreed lock-control procedure.

No. A lock adds access control but does not make a fabric bag theft-proof, forced-entry resistant or suitable for every threat. It should be used with controlled storage and handover procedures.

Provide quantity, bag dimensions, intended contents, opening frequency, preferred seal or lock process, identification needs, colour and delivery destination. The final closure configuration is confirmed in the approved specification.
